I bought park passes and lightening passes. When do I book the actual park? And when do I book the activities each day? How do I make breakfast and lunch reservations with characters?

Hiya, Kimmie! Welcome to planDisney. I am so excited to help you plan your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!

As for reservations, you likely secured those when you purchased tickets but let me explain how to check. Log in to your Disneyland account, go to “My Disneyland” and select “Ticket and Reservation Details.” From there, click on “View My Park Reservations” and on the following page you should see your reservations under “Upcoming Theme Park Reservations.” If for any reason you do not see your reservations here, go to the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar as soon as possible to check for availability. If you have Park Hopper tickets, you’ll be reserving the park you will start at, and after 1:00 p.m. you can hop to the other park and continue moving back and forth between the parks the remainder of the day.

It’s great you have already purchased Disney Genie+ with your tickets so you can access Lightning Lanes. You will need the Disneyland mobile app to access Genie+, so please download that if you haven’t already. In the app, you can go to “Tip Board” once you have entered the theme park and as you scroll, you’ll see the attractions that offer Lightning Lanes. You can click “Book Experience” for the attraction you want. Here's a tip - you can make your next selection once you have redeemed the prior one, OR if it’s been 120 minutes since you made the prior one. Example: if you reserved the Space Mountain Lightning Lane at 8:00 a.m. for a 1:00 p.m. return time, you could book another Lightning Lane for a different attraction at 10:00 a.m., even though you haven’t scanned into Space Mountain yet. I know it sounds a bit confusing, but you’ll get the hang of it once you arrive and start using it! I like to set an alarm on my phone to remind me when it's time to make my next selection.

There are four options for character dining currently available. My favorite is Goofy’s Kitchen, which is the only one that has characters there for breakfast AND dinner! I was just at Goofy’s Kitchen for breakfast last weekend and there is an amazing buffet with a huge spread of sweet and savory options and of course, Mickey-shaped waffles! Chef Goofy and his pals dance around the restaurant about every 15 minutes so you'll see them multiple times during your meal. You’ll want to check dining reservation availability in the Disneyland mobile app as soon as possible. Keep checking even if you don’t see one available, as reservations can become available if Guests cancel prior to the 24-hour cancellation window. You could also check with the host stand to see if you can join the walk-up list.

Be sure to check out the entertainment scheduleThe Dapper Dans and Five & Dime are both so delightful while relaxing on a park bench, enjoying popcorn or any other Disney snack!

Kimmie, I hope this was helpful. Have the most magical visit!
