Hi there, MaKayla. Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney to ask your question.
I am so thrilled that
park hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World. It's actually my preferred park touring style and I missed it so much when it wasn't being offered last year. My perfect Disney day starts out in the early morning at Magic Kingdom Park. I love taking pictures in front of Cinderella Castle with that morning sunlight hitting it just right and enjoying some of my most favorite attractions with little to no wait times. Then around lunchtime, when the parks tend to be the busiest, you'll usually find me heading back to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I am staying at for some fun in the sun. I love spending the afternoons splish-splashing by the pool. In the evenings I typically head over to Epcot for drinks and snacks for dinner around The World Showcase. It's a great day and I'm glad to have it back. Since its return, however, park hopping does look a little bit different. Here is how it is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests wishing to park hop must make a park pass reservation for the first park they wish to visit each day
- Guests wishing to park hop must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation first
- Park hopping hours start at 2:00 p.m. each day and last until each park's closing
- Guests wishing to park hop do not need to make additional park pass reservations for any park they'd like to hop to throughout the day
- Park hopping is subject to park capacity limitations at this time
To make park hopping a little bit easier on Guests,
complimentary bus park-to-park transportation is being offered at this time. When it's around 2:00 p.m. and you are ready to head to another theme park, you'll just head to the bus stop and look for the bus with the corresponding park name you'd like to visit. There will be a Cast Member working this bus stop area and he or she will want to verify that you do, indeed, have the park hopper option added to your ticket. This is a simple scan of your MagicBand or card and then you'll be able to board the bus to your next destination. If the theme park you are wanting to visit has reached its capacity limit at that time, the Cast Member working that area will be able to let you know and you can adjust your plans from there. I will say that I have been park hopping many times for a little over 2 months now and have not run into any problems when it comes to parks not allowing hopping due to capacity. I know it could potentially be a problem but it's not something to worry too much about at this time.
MaKayla, I hope you have so much fun park hopping all over Walt Disney World during your vacation. I see that your vacation is not for a few more months so if you have any other questions before you go,
I'm happy to help!
Have fun!
