Hi Sandra! Welcome to planDisney.
I LOVE collecting glow cubes from the Disney Parks - my prized glow cube possession is a light-up color-changing Pascal from Rapunzel, and I keep him clipped on my office lamp shade for when I need a change of perspective. When I saw the photo of the
Oogie Boogie dice glow cubes at Disneyland Resort I almost jumped on my broom to fly over to California - they're so much fun!
I bet when that one glow cube wouldn't turn on, you sang "you're joking, you're joking, I can't believe my eyes!" I know I would have! I have had glow cubes with tricky buttons in the past, and I'm happy to share a few ideas.
As Oogie sings, "don't you know the one thing that would make it work so nice?" For me, that one thing is to find just the right pressure to place on the button. You might need to unbend a paper clip to get a better pressure point on the button, or use your fingernail. You might also have to try pressing different spots on the button, or holding it down for a longer or shorter time. I got my daughter an adorable Mickey rainbow glow cube a few years ago, and she can make it work but I can't no matter how hard I try!
If you've tried everything and our green friend is still singing, "I'm Mr. Oogie Boogie and you're not GLOWING anywhere," it might just be that you have a "snake and spider stew" situation on your hands. If you're planning another visit to Disneyland Resort before the end of
Halloween Time, you would be welcome to ask for a replacement glow cube for your son. I think this is the perfect excuse for another trip!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney, Sandra. I'm sending pixie-dusted wishes that your glow cube lights up and you're singing "what's this? What's this?" and enjoying that Halloweentown glow.
Wishing you glow cube magic,
Robyn
