Hi there, Holly! I'm so glad you found your way to us here at planDisney. We just can't get enough Disney over here and love helping fellow Guests just like you with your questions!
A visit to the Happiest Place on Earth with your whole family is bound to be full of magic! There is so much to see, do, and experience, but you will love walking away from your day with those forever memories!
Let's get your tickets sorted and all your pixie-dusted ducks in a row. I have some good news for you. For the theme park tickets that you've already purchased, you will simply just need to change the date of your
theme park reservation. As part of the return to the magic, all Guests are required to have both a theme park ticket and a theme park reservation to enter the parks. If you purchased your tickets recently through the Disneyland website, you would have made a reservation as part of the check-out process. While a ticket is nonrefundable, the reservation can be canceled and rescheduled, subject to availability. We all know how life can throw a pumpkin or two in your path and plans may need to change, so this allows Guests some flexibility in their planning!
To change the reservation date on your existing tickets, it's as easy as waving your magic wand through your
Disneyland Mobile App! Before making any changes, you'll want to take a peek at the
current theme park reservation calendar to make sure there is availability on your new date. Be sure to toggle at the top to the ticket type you are holding - either One Park Per Day or Park Hopper tickets - as there is different availability for both. I just looked myself and I can see that reservations are open for Guests with Park Hopper tickets on the 17th! This calendar makes live updates, so even if you don't see availability, keep checking as Guests are always changing their plans.
When you open the app, tap the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner and select "Future Plans". On the next screen, you should see any theme park reservations that you are holding (along with any dining reservations you might have or other plans you've made). Tap into the date you would like to change. On the next page, you will need to scroll down to your date again and tap "Cancel Reservation". You will be able to select the Guests you are canceling for and then follow the rest of the prompts! Once it has been canceled, it will take you back to the beginning where you can select "Book a Theme Park Reservation" and start the process again to select your new date.
All that's left to do now is purchase the extra tickets for your additional family members and you are well on your way to a magical Disney day! Since you are bringing your whole family, you might want to consider adding
Genie+ to your tickets. The Genie is in a wish-granting mood and this will provide you with access to
Lightning Lanes on select attractions AND as a bonus, you will also get unlimited digital downloads of all the Disney PhotoPass photos taken that day. Even if you didn't initially purchase Genie+ for your original tickets, you can always add it once you have scanned into your park day within the app! Just click the "+" along the bottom navigation bar and choose "View My Genie Day and Tip Board" and you will see the option appear under the "My Day" tab.
Have the most magical time, Holly! If you need anything else, we're always here for you at planDisney.
