I bought the memory maker, do i need to have the photo pass as well?

Hi Laura, thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

If I understand your question correctly, then I am happy to tell you that Memory Maker is all you need to capture those magical memories! Disney's PhotoPass Service is the system used at Walt Disney World Resort to take your pictures in the theme parks, take photos (and even videos in some cases!) on certain attractions, during certain character experiences as well as at select Walt Disney World Resort restaurants, all subject to change. If you purchase Memory Maker, you will have the rights to download or share all of your photos. I’ve found that Disney PhotoPass photographers are always easy to find!

Here are a few tips: always ask if your photographer has any MagicShots available- those are my favorite! Also, you can save money by purchasing Memory Maker in advance of your vacation. Memory Maker photos are easy to claim, you just have the photographer scan your MagicBand after having taken the picture. Finally, Photopass photos expire 45 days after they were captured, so don’t forget to download them before then!
