Ahoy There, Ashley!
Welcome to planDisney. How exciting that you are sailing to the great wide somewhere on a Disney Cruise Line cruise. Our family has sailed on several Disney Cruises and it is such a wonderful way to enjoy dazzling places you never knew while being immersed in the magic of Disney.
Ashley, your MagicBand+ (it is called a
DisneyBand+ on the cruise, but it is the same) is like your personal magic wand while onboard your cruise. From boarding the ship on embarkation day and embarking and disembarking at
Disney's Castaway Cay and
Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, to opening your Stateroom door, to charging merchandise and specialty foods, it really is an all-in-one personal pixie dust device. While you can use it in lieu of your Key to the World Cards on the ship and at
Disney's islands, it is a good idea to also keep them with you at all times, just in case you lose your DisneyBand+. You will still need to have your Key To The World Card to disembark and embark at other ports of call. Additionally, all Guests 18 years and older are still required to debark and embark with a photo ID.
Disney had left complimentary lanyards in our Stateroom on our last cruise, which helped us keep our
Key To The World cards with us at all times. These also make great souvenirs!
I hope this helps you, Ashley. If you have any further Disney planning questions, sail back here to see us, and we will be so happy to help you.
Anchors Aweigh,
Keri
