Hey there, Kate! I am shouting a welcoming message to you from across the pond, and I'm so glad you found us here at planDisney! Believe it or not, I just had the same charging troubles with my
MagicBand+ in February, so I can give you some tips and tricks to ensure your devices are charged and ready to go for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort.
My first suggestion is to do exactly what you have tried. Plug in your MagicBand+ and leave it on the charger for a good long while. I first tried overnight, and then left it for an entire day. When I returned later in the evening there were signs of life on my MagicBand+! Try plugging it in today, then checking on it tomorrow to see if it's holding a charge.
My next suggestion is to make sure the connectors are free of any dust or debris that would prevent a good connection between the charging cable and the MagicBand+. I use a pencil eraser to clean off the prongs and the little gold circles they connect with on the back of the device. When you put your MagicBand+ on the charger, make sure everything is lined up just right and give it a firm push onto the connectors.
Finally, follow the reset steps listed on the
MagicBand+ frequently asked questions page. Make sure you do a short press before holding for 15 seconds.
If all else fails,
reach out to a friendly Cast Member and they will be able to support you further in troubleshooting your MagicBand+. I have faith that your devices will spring to life once they've sat on the charger for a day! Even if your
MagicBand+ battery is dead, it will still allow you to tap into the parks with valid admission, tap into Lightning Lanes, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room door, and charge purchases to your room.
I'm crossing my fingers for you, Kate! I hope you have a wonderful visit to Disney World.
Stay magical,
Scott
