I bought a magic band+ And linked them to my MDE account. After I tried having my husband link his to his MDE account but it was not letting him do this. Can he pair it to his phone. Is there a way for him to link our reservation to his MDE account?

    Hi Ashley,

Thanks for bringing another question to planDisney! I love using my MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World. I am often surprised by what the MagicBand+ interacts with in the parks. On my most recent trip, my MagicBand+ was lighting up and vibrating along with the show at For the First time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration in Hollywood Studios.

A MagicBand+ can only be linked to one My Disney Experience account. Unfortunately, once a MagicBand+ has been linked to an account, it cannot be transferred to another person

If you are instead asking about pairing his MagicBand+ to his phone, I recommend following a few troubleshooting steps before reaching out to a Cast Member. First, make sure your My Disney Experience app is up to date. Next, confirm that your MagicBand+ is charged. Power your MagicBand+ off by pressing the button on the back of the band until it buzzes twice. This means the band has turned off. To turn the MagicBand+ back on, press and hold the button until the light on the face of the band turns green. Then your husband should open his My Disney Experience app and hold the MagicBand+ to the back of his phone to begin the pairing process. The app should prompt you through the pairing steps.

If your husband still cannot pair his MagicBand+ to his phone, he can factory reset his band by pressing the button on the back of the band for one second, releasing it, and then pressing again for 15 seconds. The MagicBand+ will buzz three times and light up before the band restarts. The lights will flash green indicating it has been reset. After you reset, you can begin the pairing process again

If these steps do not work, I suggest you call the number listed under “My Disney Experience, MagicBand, and MagicBand+” for assistance from a Cast Member.

I hope this helps, Ashley. Your husband could wait until you arrive in a few weeks to purchase a new MagicBand+, there are so many styles available in the theme parks that may not currently be available online. Alternatively, he could set up MagicMobile Service and use his phone to enter the theme parks, link PhotoPass photos, and tap in to Lightning Lane experiences!
