    We bought our kids surprise tickets to Disney world for Christmas. I don't want to link the tickets to their profiles bc they will find out we are going to Disney world. However, I also want to go ahead and book lighting lane passes for a few rides

    Okay, Julie. This question is amazing! And I'm so happy you brought it to us here at planDisney.

    Because the ability to purchase and reserve Lightning Lanes is tied to theme park tickets, you must have purchased tickets and have them linked to each Guest's profile before you can make your reservations. So, let's find some creative ways to reserve Lightning Lanes while still maintaining an element of surprise:

    • If they would possibly see your plans because the My Disney Experience mobile app is on their phone, find an inventive way to get them to temporarily remove the app from their device. Maybe suggest that you will need their help with family photos during the holiday season and need to clear out some space by deleting apps. Suggest that this app is one that they don't currently need to have on their phone.
    • If they are under 13 and, therefore, don't have their own MyDisney account, you are likely managing their profiles. So, simply changing your password would ensure they can't log into either the app or the account online. Just make sure you're logged out on all shared devices. "Oops, I had to do a password reset, and now I've forgotten what I changed it to. I'll do another reset soon!" 
    • Don't forget about the emails! Ensure that the account getting confirmation emails is logged out on shared devices as well. You can even go as far as to use a private window when you are on these devices, as once you close out the browser, that information is not typically stored.
