I bought hopper no expire tickets. I had to be finger printed when using. Why? Do they keep them for a while or forever? Do they purge the info after so long? Just a little concerned.

    Hi Chris!

The biometric finger scan is the way that Disney uses to connect a certain guest to a certain ticket or pass.  The finger scan is not actually recording your actual fingerprint, but numerical information about certain points on your fingertip that uniquely identify you apart from everyone else in the world.  This data is typically kept until 30 days after the ticket is expired or when the computer deems that the ticket has been all used up.  The computer system that holds the biometric data is totally separate from all the other computer systems in Walt Disney World to keep this data secure.  The initial biometric finger scan when you first used your tickets is what is used to compare all the subsequent finger scans as you enter the Parks.  I hope that I have alleviated your concerns about the finger scan system for Park entry.

I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is truly amazing!
