Hey, Duke. Welcome to planDisney!
Have you experienced the newly reimagined
Mickey's Toontown yet? I've been so impressed by the immersive theming of this land.
CenTOONial Park, the homes of
Mickey and
Minnie,
Goofy's How-to-Play Yard, and
Donald's Duck Pond all look brilliant! This is a place for both small kids and "big kids." Also, I love
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. This is such a fun family ride that's great for all ages. If you haven't had the chance to explore this land, you don't want to miss it!
Duke, unfortunately, when Guests downgrade their ticket to a lower tier, they are not able to receive a refund of the cost difference. I know that's not the answer you wanted to hear. I wish I had more magical news for you. However, I trust you'll still have a wonderful time at the Happiest Place on Earth.
I'm all about trying to save money when I plan a Disney vacation. Here are a few personal tips:
- Instead of staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel, stay off-site. The Good Neighbor hotels will save you a lot of pennies (some are extremely close to the theme parks). Also, if you stay off-site, eat a hearty breakfast before you arrive at the theme parks.
- If you have a child, bring your own stroller instead of
renting one from Disney. We always bring our own stroller.
- It's also amazing how much you save when you pack your own snacks and bring your own refillable water bottles.
- Finally, if possible, split some of your meals. The portion sizes at many restaurants are huge and you might find that splitting a meal will save you money and leave you pleasantly satisfied.
I hope that's helpful, Duke. Thanks for letting me be part of your great, big, beautiful tomorrow.
Mike
