I bought the genie pass and was very dissatisfied to learn after, that you can only lightning lane a ride one time. Is there an upgrade to this where you can lightning lane rides as many times as you want?

    Hi there, Mallory!

Welcome to planDisney! I hope you had a great visit to the parks last week, despite the disappointment around Disney Genie+ Service limiting guests to one Lightning Lane per ride, per day. I know what it's like to have a detail like that sneak up on you, and I'm sorry that happened.

There is not currently an option to access Lightning Lanes for rides more than once per guest, per day, while using Disney Genie+ Service. This is where some strategy comes into the way that I visit the parks so that I make each of those Lightning Lanes count! Here's what I do when I visit:

    • Get up early! When we first enter the parks we usually don't go straight for a Lightning Lane. Instead, we get there early and take advantage of naturally short lines at the start of the day. Ride your favorites right away, then grab a Lightning Lane to do them again later!
    • Watch for which Lightning Lanes are filling up first. Some more popular attractions will run out of time, so reserve those first even if you have to wait a while to ride and get your next Lightning Lane reservation.
    • Set an alarm so you're ready to get your next Lightning Lane as soon as you can. You'll see a small blue banner at the top of the Tip Board in the Disneyland Mobile App that tells you when you can get your next Lightning Lane.
    • For rides where it's offered (if everyone in your party is age 7 and up) take advantage of Single Rider lines
Attraction queues can also be shorter during parades and nighttime spectaculars. If you're willing to pass on the perfect fireworks spot then you might be able to get in another favorite ride with less waiting!

I'm sorry you were disappointed in the limited Lightning Lanes, Mallory. But I hope these park touring strategies help you to enjoy your favorite attractions more often the next time you're in the parks!

    Keep moving forward!
