Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I see that you reached out to us a few days ago, so I'm hoping you were already able to find some sort of resolution. However, I'm happy to share my suggestions should you run into a similar issue in the future.
At this time,
Disney Genie+ Service can only be purchased for the current day when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. Guests will be able to begin purchasing the service in their
My Disney Experience App beginning at midnight on the date of their visit, with valid theme park reservation. As you learned, you won't be able to purchase it for future dates during your trip so I recommend reviewing the Tip Board within the"My Disney Genie Day" section of the app carefully before completing your purchase.
I'm sorry that you mistakenly purchased it for a date you didn't plan to visit the parks. Unfortunately, we don't have the ability to access your reservation details or process any payment or refund transactions here at planDisney, but if you run into an issue like this in the future your best bet would be to visit the
Guest Experience Team stationed under blue umbrellas in the parks. If you aren't planning to visit the parks I'd recommend
contacting a Cast Member by phone for additional assistance. You can also use the chat feature within the My Disney Experience App to reach a Cast Member. You'll find that by navigating to the feature menu (≡) at the bottom right of the app and scrolling down to the "Chat With Us" tile located at the bottom of the right column.
I'd like to mention that Genie+ is typically a non-refundable purchase and experience availability is subject to change, cancelation, or closure. However, I'm hopeful that Cast Members review circumstances on a case-by-case basis. If you haven't already reached out, I'd recommend doing so as soon as possible.
I hope you were still able to enjoy a magical visit despite the mistaken purchase. We've had some really amazing days in the parks utilizing Genie+ so I'm confident you'll enjoy it on your preferred day.
