Hi. We just bought a DVC membership, and are planning our first use. We aren't sure what we need for park tickets or if we want to use the dining plan. Can we add these when we check in to the hotel, or do they have to be added before we arrive? Thanks

Howdy Pam!  WELCOME TO THE DISNEY VACATION CLUB!!!  DVC is a magical way to vacation and I'm so excited about the lifetime of memories you are going to create as you enjoy your DVC Membership!

Your Park Tickets can be purchased when you arrive at your Resort.  As you are reviewing your points and planning your next few years of vacations, you might consider if an Annual Pass would be an economical purchase for you.  The past few years, we have booked our vacations so that we could use our Annual Pass for a minimum of two vacations.  For example, if we visited Disney World in early December in one year, we tried to go in late November the next.  This helped us not only maximize our DVC Membership but also maximize our Park Tickets.  Also, as DVC Members, we get a discount on our Annual Pass and as Annual Passholders, we receive discounts on merchandise, dining and more!

The Disney Dining Plan must be added to your reservation at least 48 hours prior to your check-in date.  Payment in full is due at the time of adding the Disney Dining Plan.  It is possible to book your Dining Plan on the DVC Member Website but according to one of my fabulous fellow panelists who spoke to DVC Member Services, the online Dining Plan information is causing some Members some confusion and at this time it's best to contact Member Services via phone and book your Dining Plan with a Cast Member.

I would love to know what Resort you now call "Home" and see if you have any other questions as you plan your first DVC vacation!  Once again, WELCOME!  My family and I have been DVC Members since 1997 and I would be honored and thrilled to help you with any questions you have regarding your new Membership!
