Hi Jennifer, welcome to planDisney!
Fairy Godmothers have magic wands; Guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort have MagicBands. MagicBands allow Guests to tap into magic at park entry, at
Lightning Lane entrances, and with
Disney PhotoPass photographers. Guests staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel can also use MagicBands to unlock their hotel room and make purchases throughout their stay.
It sounds like you have a Limited Release MagicBand 2 by Dooney & Bourke in your possession. What magical taste you have! Start by linking your MagicBand to your My Disney Experience account
online or in the
My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the app's home page --> MagicBands and More --> [your name] --> "+ Link"). Once linked, your MagicBand will appear under the MagicBand section of the app, which is where you can confirm that your band is
Activated and "Ready to Use."
MagicBand 2 designs cannot be charged like the newer
MagicBand+ designs, but you should have no trouble using it for years to come. The long-range battery of your MagicBand is estimated to last two years, but I've been using my Dooney & Bourke MagicBand for close to five years with no trouble. It matches everything!
Even after the long-range battery in your MagicBand runs out of pixie dust, Jennifer, you'll be able to use it at various touchpoints throughout the park. The battery is what automagically links your Disney PhotoPass attraction photos and videos to your account. My panelist pal Alyssa recently shared some
great tips for a backup plan that ensures attraction photos link to your account without a fully functioning MagicBand, which you may find helpful in future years.
From one Disney fashionista to another, be sure to check out my favorite place to shop for Disney accessories on Disney property -

Choose magic,
Jennifer
