Hi, Keira! Welcome to planDisney and thank you for trusting us with your question. I hope we can get you some helpful guidance so you can get your question about your
Disneyland Resort Magic Key Pass sorted.
I think a good place to start is to review the
terms and conditions of the Magic Key Program which have a provision for unactivated, expired passes. Unfortunately, you are correct that a Pass will expire if it is not activated within one year of the purchase date, and after that time, the Pass will no longer be able to be activated. Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable, but there is a possibility of applying the purchase price of your original unactivated, expired Magic Key Pass toward the cost of a new Magic Key Pass of equal or greater value. It is important to keep in mind that this is subject to the availability of Magic Key Passes, which have periodically been paused for new sales over the year.
Since your situation is a bit unique, my best recommendation is to go ahead and
call the dedicated Magic Key Holder line and speak with a Cast Member about your options. I recently had to do the same thing to fix an issue with my Magic Key Pass and the Cast Members were warm and helpful! I hope this has been some useful information, Keira, and I really hope that you are able to enjoy all the wonderful benefits of the Magic Key Program in the upcoming year! If we can help with anything else in the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out to
planDisney again soon.
Magically yours,
Tishra
