I bought a Disneyland after dark event ticket for my friend but he can no longer make it, can I change his name on the ticket?

Hey there and welcome to planDisney, Angela. We're so glad you stopped by to share this question with us. It sounds like you're in for a wild(cat) night of fun at Disneyland After Dark: Disney Channel Nite and I'm thrilled to help.

Hooray and congrats on securing your tickets to the first Disney Channel Nite of 2026! I'm sorry to hear that your friend isn't able to make it, but no worries, we can get that fixed up - we're all in this together.

Here's the "sitch," to change the name on your special event ticket, you can reach out to a friendly Cast Member at the phone line for Tickets for assistance. You can also use the "Chat with Us" feature in the Disneyland app by tapping the "☰" to open the menu and scrolling down towards the bottom of the screen. Overall, try not to stress too much over having the wrong name on the ticket. It's not a requirement to have the name match the ticket holder. Each person's picture will be taken once you scan your ticket for the first time at the entrance gate and the picture is used to match to the ticket holder for the duration of the visit. In the past, I purchased a ticket for my husband to attend a Disneyland After Dark event with me and at the last minute, he wasn't able to join and my friend went with me instead. We had no issues at the gate with the ticket in my husband's name.

You're going to have an amazing time at this special event. The photo ops were my favorite when I attended a couple of years ago. There was a photo spot where you could live out your childhood dreams and draw the Disney Channel Mickey ears. It was the most popular photo spot of the evening, so if this is available and something on your wish list, my tip is to find where it's located and get in line early. Disney PhotoPass photos captured during the event are included with your ticket. Don't forget, you can also enter the park as early as 6:00 PM, three hours before the event starts.

Angela, I hope this has been helpful and gives you peace of mind for your upcoming visit. Let us know if there's anything else that we can help with. Here's wishing you a fun-filled time! It's gonna be a great day!
