Disney Gift Cards are one of my favorite ways to save for
Walt Disney World Resort vacations. They can have up to $1,000 loaded on them, but there is no limit to the number of gift cards you can use to pay for your trip.
I recommend keeping the gift cards even after you have applied the whole balance to your trip.
Walt Disney World vacation packages are pretty flexible. If something less-than-magical interrupts your plans, refunds are applied back to the original form of payment.
If you use Disney Gift Cards for all those delightful Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars and DOLE Whips, I also recommend registering your gift cards online. You can have up to six cards on your account. You can also transfer balances between cards. If any card is lost, you can easily move its balance to another card. Hakuna Matata!
I would also keep an eye on major retailers. Some offer discounts on gift cards, and you may find more deals as the holidays approach. And my family and friends know Disney Gift Cards are the best holiday present for us.
You may also want to look into a
Disney Visa Chase card. They often offer incentives for new accounts. With a premium card, you can earn up to 2% on charges made at Disney destinations. Opening a credit card is a serious decision, so it may or may not be right for you, but it is an option that may help.
Also, as I said,
Disney vacation packages have flexible cancellation policies. Your room and tickets are fully refundable as long as your trip is 30 or more days away. Did you know this also means you modify your reservation if a
special offer becomes available?
New discounts on 2025 vacations were announced last week. You can check the details of this offer to see if it is available for your reservation. Under your
plans, you can find your resort reservation and see if there is a "Change Reservation" button to the right. If so, you will see "Vacation Offer" on the next screen at the top of the page. Here, it will say if you have a standard package or any special offers applied. You can select "Change" to search for any offers. The next screen will search for specials matching your reservation with the same dates and resort.
You can also check out rates at other resorts or dates by choosing "Change" at the top of the page with the rates for your existing resort. A pop-up box will give you options to change the dates, travel party and resorts. You can also
call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations, and a Cast Member can help.
