I bought a dinner package for River of Lights, which shows at 9:15. I’d love to take my family to Starlight Safari (10:00 tour) as well. Is this feasible, or does the distance and timing make this impossible? Thanks!

    Hi Michele!

I'm so happy to help you plan your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is a beautiful theme park at any time, but it really takes on new life after dark! Rivers of Light is such a beautiful addition to nighttime entertainment at the park because it is a wonderful celebration of the beauty of life. The show is just over 15 minutes, so if it is scheduled to start at 9:15 p.m. on the day you are visiting, you can expect it will be over at around 9:30. From there, you will need to navigate back to the front of the park, which can take a few minutes when you are walking with the crowd from the show.

Once you are at the front of the park, you will need to travel from Disney's Animal Kingdom Park to Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. Generally, I plan one hour transportation time when I have to travel to different Disney Resort hotels or theme parks. Disney's Animal Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village are extremely close so it generally takes less time, but I think the timing is definitely too tight if you are taking a bus.

In my experience, the timing of these two experiences are just too close to enjoy a relaxing evening. I think there is too much risk to book both of these on the same evening as I wouldn't want to be stressed about missing the Starlight Safari while I was enjoying Rivers of Light.

Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue your planning. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
