We bought the dining plan. There are 6 of us total, 2 adults and 4 children.I see that many of the restaurants say there will be an 18% gratuity charged for parties of 6 or more. Will that apply to us since we are 1 family unit and not 2 separate families?

    Hi Lisa!

Congratulations on purchasing a Disney Dining Plan to go with your Walt Disney World vacation!  My son and I love having a Disney Dining Plan because it is so great to be able to order from a Table Service menu and not to have to worry about how much it is going to cost!  Yes, there will be an automatic 18% gratuity added to you final bill at Table Service restaurants in Walt Disney World because you have a party of 6 or more.  The way that it works is that the people dining at the same table are counted regardless of whether they are children, adults, separate families, or in the same family unit.  I have eaten with large parties in Walt Disney World and we all had separate checks but the 18% gratuity was added to each individual check because we were a group of 6 or more people eating at the same table together.  I hope that this helps!

I hope that every meal is magical on your next Walt Disney World vacation!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
