If I bought a 2 days ticket, but on the 2nd day I decide I want to add park hooper at the park. Can I do it? And if I do, even though it's the 2nd day. Would I have to pay park hooper for 2 days?

Greetings, Diana, and welcome to planDisney. The countdown is on for your magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! I'm glad that you're interested in visiting both Disneyland and California Adventure. There's so much to see and do in each park, and it will only get more exciting once the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration begins. Let's talk about your ticket and the possibility of upgrading it.

Diana, you can upgrade your 2-Day, 1-Park Per Day ticket to a Park Hopper, but the upgrade will apply to your whole ticket. That means the cost to upgrade doesn't change if you do it on the second day. If you're interested in upgrading to a Park Hopper, it makes most sense to do it before you enter the park on the first day. That way, you'll maximize the value and enjoy the benefits for both days of your visit.

This is fairly easy to do. From the Disneyland mobile app, tap the three horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen (≡) and then select “My Tickets & Passes.” Any tickets you purchased with your Disney account should appear here. Select the ticket you want to upgrade, look for an option to modify your ticket, and then follow the prompts. Alternatively, you can call the Tickets line to speak with a Cast Member who will gladly assist you.

One thing I love about the Park Hopper ticket is you can switch between parks on the same day beginning at 11:00 a.m. (subject to availability) as long as you have a reservation for one park. I generally like to go to the park I have a reservation for right when it opens – the wait times are typically shorter for many attractions compared to other times of the day. I usually make my way over to the other park around lunchtime.

That said, Diana, you can also plan to visit one park each day if you choose not to upgrade to a Park Hopper. I've done this with family who visited with 1-Park Per Day tickets, and we still had the most magical time. The secret is to make a list of attractions, entertainment, and food you want to try in both parks and build an itinerary to maximize your time in each one. The Disney Genie service in the Disneyland mobile app can help with that.

I mentioned the 70th Anniversary – there's so much to look forward to, but I'm especially excited about the nighttime spectaculars. Paint the Night and Wondrous Journeys, both of which are returning to Disneyland, hold a special place in my heart, and I highly recommend you plan to see them. There will also be a new World of Color show coming to California Adventure that I wouldn't want to miss.

The Disney Parks Blog shares a lot of valuable content that may inspire plans for your trip. Of course, if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us here at planDisney. We're always happy to help!

Diana, I hope your trip will be full of smiles, joy, and unforgettable core memories. Whether you choose to upgrade your ticket or not, I know you'll have a wonderful time.

    Wishing you magic,
    Kriss
