Hi! I bought a 2 days theme park base ticket! It says I don’t need a reservation to use them. Do I just show up (during the days I’m staying in one of your resorts) to my chosen parks? Do I need to do anything to specify which parks I want to go to?

    Hello Shaina!

Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you are very excited to begin your adventure at Walt Disney World Resort! Figuring out which Parks to visit is many times the best part of planning one's trip. Sometimes you make your decision on what the weather looks like that day or how you feel physically or even which character you want to see. I love that the flexibility to make last-minute decisions on vacation has finally returned.

A two-day Standard Theme Park Ticket is considered a date-based ticket which means you do not need to make a theme park reservation. This means you can visit whatever Park you wish during the four-day time period that was selected when you purchased them. You can be staying at a lovely Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or anywhere else and the tickets will still work the same. Since you stated you bought base tickets, it means that you will only be able to visit one Park per day so once you commit and check into a Park you can leave and return only to that Park. For your second day, you can pick a different Park or revisit the one you just enjoyed. It's all up to you!

Now, you mentioned that you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel which means that you have the benefit of Early Theme Park Entry. That means that you can enter the Theme Parks 30 minutes before the Park opens for other guests. Keep an eye on the Hours & Events Calendar as you plan. If you wish to hop to another Park in a day there is still time to upgrade your ticket! You can do it right on the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Click on the three stacked lines on the bottom right and then "My Tickets & Passes." Change or upgrade your ticket and pay the price difference. Now, I'm not a big fan of Park Hopping but when I have a short time to enjoy the Parks it is a fun way to experience more of what I am interested in doing. Something to consider as you plan your trip. I would also consider purchasing Disney Genie+ which is something you can purchase each Park day and use to access the Lightning Lanes for various attractions. It's a good way to maximize your time! You can start booking your first Lightning Lane at 7 am and then two hours after the Park normally opens or when you use that 7 am Lightning Lane reservation. The app will show you on the Tip Board the next time you can book another one. I hate waiting in a long line and just love the feel of breezing through my day in the Parks.

I hope this was helpful and if you have any more questions please let me know!

    Happy Planning!
