Hi Darrell,
Welcome to planDisney! I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been able to visit Walt Disney World with friends as you originally planned. But taking two trips to Walt Disney World to make sure you use the tickets is a great way to make the best of the situation!
It sounds like the tickets are still in your MyDisney account under your “Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker.”
Tickets can be reassigned until they are first used. You should see the option near each ticket to “Reassign Ticket,” which would allow you to assign one ticket to your wife’s name. If the tickets are in your friends’ accounts, they need to log into their MyDisney account and reassign the tickets to you and your wife.
While you’re in the “Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker” section on the Walt Disney World website, you should see “Change Ticket” next to each ticket. You can then choose the new start date of your ticket. If there is an increase in price for your new date, you will be responsible for paying the difference. Your
4-day ticket will be valid for 7 days beginning on the selected start date, which means the use window will end before December 8 if your first use is on November 29. If you decide during your visit to add days to your ticket, you could stop by any theme park ticket window to upgrade your ticket. This would extend your validity window, so depending on how many days you add, you may be able to continue to use your ticket on December 8.
Adding days to your ticket can only be done before your ticket expires or the last day is used. If you have any issues completing this process, you can call the number listed under “
Tickets and Hotel Reservations” for assistance from a Cast Member.
As you get ready to visit Walt Disney World this holiday season, check out this article on
Disney Parks Blog about the “icon Christmas Trees” around Disney World. I was surprised to learn that the tree at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the tallest Christmas tree in Walt Disney World! I already love the holidays at Walt Disney World, but this makes me appreciate the décor details so much more.
I hope this helps, Darrell. Enjoy your holiday getaway with your wife! If you have any more questions, we’d love to help you again at
planDisney.
