Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you stopped by! It looks like you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in just a few, short days. How exciting!
Disney After Hours events are SO much fun. I'm not much of a night owl, but with low wait times for popular attractions, complimentary snacks and beverages, and the unique opportunity to experience a nearly-empty theme park, you can bet I can rally for a Disney After Hours event! Unfortunately,
Theme Park Tickets cannot be converted into special event tickets, like those for Disney After Hours. I
do recommend purchasing the additional ticket for Disney After Hours, but I understand your concern about your sister and your existing Theme Park Tickets. Not to fret! I have some suggestions about how to keep her out of that bright, Orlando sun.
Most attraction queues are inside, nicely shaded and air-conditioned. Try to visit the attractions with outdoor queues, like
Tomorrowland Speedway, early in the morning before it gets too warm. Use the same advice for dining locations. When you're ready to grab a bite to eat, opt for one of the many locations that offer indoor seating! Your sister may want to consider wearing a wide-brimmed hat or carrying an umbrella to shade her as you hop from one attraction to another. And did you know that you can bring your own food and beverages into the theme parks? I recommend carrying a small cooler with bottled water. Loose ice is not permitted, but you can keep the water nice and cold with bagged ice or reusable ice packs. And lastly, in the middle of the day, when the sun is shining the brightest, take a break and head to an indoor show like
Festival of the Lion King or
For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.
I hope this was helpful. I'm wishing you and your sister a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
