Hey there, hi there Heidi! Welcome and thank you for bringing your question to planDisney. This is a great question, and I am happy to help you make this thoughtful gift to the
Disneyland Resort easy to use for your daughter and her husband.
Since the tickets are already linked in your
Disneyland app, there is actually no need to formally “transfer” them ahead of time. Here is how your daughter and her husband can use them smoothly.
They can download the Disneyland app on their own phones and sign in or create a Disney account. In the app, they will tap the three lines in the bottom right corner, select Tickets and Passes, then tap the plus sign in the top right corner and choose Link Tickets and Passes. They can scan the barcode from your app or manually enter the ticket ID number, and the tickets will then appear in their apps as well.
On their first park visit, they will have their photo taken at the entrance. That photo permanently assigns each ticket to the person using it, so from that point forward the tickets are locked to them. Remember to ensure that they have valid
park reservations for each day they are visiting.
Heidi, I noticed you are in California, which is perfect for these
Southern California resident tickets. Just a quick reminder that your daughter and her husband must also be California residents and valid California photo ID is required when entering the parks to use these tickets.
You did a wonderful job setting them up for some Disney magic. I hope their first scan-in comes with big smiles and that extra little pixie dust feeling. Stop back by, or let your daughter know we are here to help, with any planning questions that come up!
Many magical memories to your family!
Kimberly
