We just bought a condo in FL and plan to visit the parks in May. Regarding FL resident passes, how do we plan our reservations when we have to show FL resident status at the park? Do we book basic tickets and have them converted to resident passes on site?

Hi, Betsey! Welcome to planDisney, and welcome to the Sunshine State! I’m sure you’re beyond excited to start your adventure as brand new Floridians!

And as Florida residents, you’ve unlocked a whole new “World.” Just imagine waking up on a Saturday morning and deciding to go to Walt Disney World for the day. Well, you’re about to live the dream!

Plus, we Floridians can enjoy great deals on tickets and other special offers. And don’t worry, Betsey. Getting your Florida Resident tickets is as easy as downing a plate of Mickey waffles! Just buy your Florida Resident tickets online at the Walt Disney World website and link them to your My Disney Experience account. Once they’re linked, you can go ahead and make your Disney Park Pass reservations for the Theme Parks you want to visit. Then, when you arrive at the Park, you’ll just need to head to Guest Services and provide your proof of Florida residency to activate and use your tickets. And that’s it! You’re a true Floridian!

Betsey, for lots more tips and advice about planning your visits to Walt Disney World, check out planDisney’s Panel Extras page. That's where you’ll find some of our favorite ways to make the most of your Disney days.

I hope this helps you have a magical Walt Disney World visit, Betsey. Now that we’re neighbors, be sure to come back and see us again if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
