Hi there, April,
The
California resident ticket offer is a great deal. So I hope I can offer some tips to help you to use it.
As you are aware, each adult using a California resident promotional ticket must show proof of eligibility. That needs to be a valid government-issued photo ID that shows your current address in California. If your regular ID is lost and you have already applied to replace it, take your temporary ID form with you instead.
If you would like to upgrade your theme park ticket to another
theme park ticket type of equal or greater value, you may do so at the main entrance ticket booths. It’s good to be aware of the trade-offs though. The most important would be the dates you could use the tickets. If you purchased the Monday to Thursday promotional ticket, you could upgrade to a ticket that could be used on weekends. If you upgrade to a non-promotional ticket, you may also use the ticket on dates after the California resident promotional tickets expire on September 28, 2023. So there may be more flexibility with a non-promotional ticket. The one downside is that any remaining days on a non-promotional ticket must be used within 13 days after the first day of use. But the California Resident tickets may be used on any available date until September 28th, even if they are not within a two-week window.
Tony’s Tip: Don’t forget that each Guest of the Disneyland Resort theme parks must have both valid theme park admission and a
theme park reservation. Here’s a link to a
calendar that shows park reservation availability for California Resident tickets, regular one-park-per-day tickets, and regular
Park Hopper tickets. You may modify or cancel existing park reservations from the "
My Theme Park Reservations" page.
I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, April. Please visit us at planDisney again if you have any more questions about visiting The Happiest Place on Earth!
