Hi, Melissa, The Disney Dining Plan is a great value if you are able to use up all your dining credits. If you do not plan to do many table service or character meals, you might be better off changing to the Quick Service plan.
Depending on your travel dates, you might luck out and get seated without Advance Dining Reservations. However, you would have to be extremely flexible in this situation, and be prepared for long waits and off-peak dining times. With small kids, this might not work for you.
I think the Quick Service plan is a great option for you. With this plan, you get 2 Quick Service Meals and 2 snacks per night of your package, plus the resort refillable mug. For a PDF outline of this plan, click

If you decide to change your dining plan, you must do so at least 2 days prior to your check-in date by calling (407)W-DISNEY. If you decided to keep your current dining plan and want to make Advance Dining Reservations, call (407)WDW-DINE.
Whatever you decide, have a great time and I hope you find some great places to eat!
