Hi Adriana!
A personalized memento from the Happiest Place on Earth is a great way to remember the magic, touched with a bit of extra pixie dust. I am heading to the parks next week, and you've just reminded me how special it is. Now, my wheels are turning for souvenirs I can bring home to my kiddos!
Generally speaking, the policy is that same-day purchases can be embroidered on unworn and unused merchandise with the tags intact as long as you can present the original receipt. That being said, I spoke to a Cast Member who said that as long as you return within a reasonable window of time with the original receipt and tags and the item unworn and unused, the Cast Members generally agree to do the embroidery. I mention the reasonable amount of time as this seems to vary, and it is likely at the discretion of the Cast Member working, depending on how many embroidery requests they have that day. If you are returning to the parks soon and have your heart set on it, I think it's worth it to bring the unused backpack along with the receipt and give it a try! If you have specific questions before your visit, you can always give the
Merchandise Guest Services team a call, they will be happy to help!
When you head back to the resort, there are a few spots where you could inquire about embroidery inside and outside of the parks. Your options are
The Mad Hatter at Disneyland,
Kingswell Shop at California Adventure,
World of Disney in Downtown Disney, or even
small world Gifts & Sundries at the Disneyland Hotel. If it were me, I might head to this last option. You might find that the crowds are lighter, especially if you go in the morning, and you can pick up a DOLE WHIP® from
Tangaroa Terrace for your stroll back to the parks!
Adriana, I hope this was helpful! If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out to us again here at

Magic awaits,
Tara
