I bought annual passes for my family last year, it expires 9/26/16. If I renew the passes what is the start date for the new passes? We will not be able to visit Disney World (we live many states away) until 2/17. Also is their a senior discount on passes?

    Hi Steven,

I love being a Walt Disney World passholder and experiencing the magic year-round. When you renew your pass within 30 days of expiration, you get a discounted rate. Your new pass year begins on the expiration date of your previous pass. So, in your case, your start date would be September 26.

We've had a few years when we had to calculate whether it made sense to renew immediately and take advantage of the renewal rate or, if we weren't going to be able to visit again for a few months , whether it made sense to wait and risk paying a higher rate. In your case, for example, the decision might rest on whether you will be able to get in more than one Disney vacation between September 26, 2016 and September 26, 2017.

As far as I know, there are no discounts specifically for seniors.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We're happy to help guests with their planning questions. I hope this helps you decided on your renewal date. Enjoy your next year of Disney magic, no matter when it begins!
