I bought an annual pass on April 20th but I do not plan to use it until November or December. Does it expire one year from April 20th or one year from when I first use it ? Thanks, Hank

    Hiya Henry!

Welcome to planDisney! Also, welcome to the Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholder family! How lucky you are to have gotten your Annual Pass this past week! I just got mine as well and I feel like I have Genie's lamp and all of its possibilities.

The best part of the Annual Pass is that new Pass purchases have a special provision. A new Annual Pass is valid for one year from the date you use the Pass for the first time to enter the Park. It is activated by that first park entry. You also have one year from the date of purchase to activate your Pass or it will expire. So, if you plan to use it in November or December of this year you will be fine. Just make sure that before you try to enter the Parks to visit the ticket booths or Guest Relations to officially activate your Pass and get a card. By the way, everyone forgets that there is a Guest Relations in Disney Springs! You will need this card for all the discounts. I also learned that you will need this card to check into your Walt Disney World Resort that you may have booked with the amazing Annual Passholder room discounts. You can book the room beforehand and secure it but make sure to get that card and activate your Pass to get every benefit.

Did you know that Annual Passholders have a special newsletter with tons of news and updates only available on the My Disney Experience Mobile App? The Passholder Buzz was one of the most exciting things I saw on the app right after I saw the Annual Passes. Make sure to check it out and learn about what you can now enjoy as an Annual Passholder.

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions let me know!

    Happy Planning!
