How many bottles of wine PER PERSON can be brought on the ship?

Ahoy there, Donna! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad you sailed my way with your question about...well, let's call it "provisioning" for your Disney Cruise Line vacation, haha! If you're the kind of person who likes a specific type of wine, bringing your own is a great way to ensure there's a bottle onboard - your own!

According to the current alcohol policy, each Guest 21 years of age or older is permitted to bring either two unopened 750ml bottles of wine or champagne OR 6 12-ounce bottles of beer in their carry-on luggage when they board, as well as at each port of call! That bit about the carry-on is very important to remember, as any alcohol found in your checked bags will be removed and not returned! This also applies to any alcohol in excess of the bottle limit, so I definitely suggest sticking to two bottles of wine per eligible Guest!

Back in the days before kids, my wife and I were always sure to bring the maximum allowed amount of beer or wine onboard when we embarked, and picked up a few bottles or local beers when we stopped at a Port of Call or after a Port Adventure! While those days have now been replaced triple checking that our son has everything he needs, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before our carry-on luggage once again carries our favorite tempranillo or malbec - or a local favorite from one of the islands!

If you do pick some wine up in port, remember that you are meant to enjoy it in the privacy of your own stateroom and if you'd like to enjoy any of them alongside your dinner in one of the amazing dining rooms, you'll have to pay a corkage fee - so be aware!

Oh and one last thing, if you're making a stop in Nassau and like ginger, we stumbled upon a ginger wine available at most of the local liquor stores - now we try to pick a bottle up any time we're in town!

I hope that helps you make some plans for your sailing this October, Donna! Thanks again for your question, and if you run into any others at the bottom of your glass, definitely drop me another line here at planDisney!

Until then, we'll SEA ya real soon!
