If I borrowed points from 2024 to use in 2023 for a trip in December, and I need to cancel the reservation, do the points get redeposited in my 2024 use year?

    Hi Susan,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us a question, my fellow Disney Vacation Club Member!

I really do love the flexibility of being able to borrow or bank Vacation Points from another use year. This allowed me to stay in a 3 Bedroom Grand Villa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village last January for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. It was truly an unforgettable stay!

If you cancel a reservation that was made using borrowed Vacation Points, those borrowed points can’t be returned to their original Use Year but rather will be deposited into your current one. Plus, if you don’t use them before the end of the Use Year that they have been borrowed into, they will expire. To use your example, if you have to cancel your December 2023 trip, your 2024 points will get deposited into your 2023 Use Year and you’ll need to use them before that Use Year ends.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. We’re always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
