I borrowed points from 2023 (Dec use year) for a reservation for Aug, 2022. I cancelled that reservation. I understand that those borrowed points will now expire at the end of the 2022 use year. Can those points be banked, or will they simply expire?

Welcome to planDisney, Kiley, and Welcome Home!

I am always glad to chat with fellow Disney Vacation Club Members about all the ins and outs of maximizing their DVC Membership. One of my favorite features of our DVC Membership is the ability to bank and borrow Vacation Points. It allows us the flexibility to travel in a way that best fits our family's schedule. Let's take a look at your options for Vacation Point usage.

Borrowing Vacation Points from the 2023 Use Year into the 2022 Use Year means these Points will expire at the end of the Use Year they were borrowed into. In order to bank points from a December 2022 Use Year, this transaction must have been completed prior to July 31, 2022. So it does look like the opportunity to bank these points has passed. It is never easy to cancel a DVC reservation; we look forward to making these memories all year. The only other thing I would suggest is calling DVC Member Services at (800) 800-9800 to discuss any options for your Vacation Points. There is no guarantee, but sometimes there are exchanges that have extended booking windows, like Disney Cruise Line or Adventures By DisneyEither way, I hope you get to experience a Disney Vacation Club adventure soon.

Thank you for visiting planDisney. If you ever need assistance with using your Disney Vacation Club Membership, I am here and ready to help!

    Have a magical day!
