Can I borrow from 2023 and how do I do it ?

Hey there, Kristina! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home! I'm so happy that you've stopped by with your Disney Vacation Club question. I just love chatting Disney with a fellow Member!

Booking magical vacations using my DVC Membership is my favorite thing to do, and it shows. No matter how many times I add on Vacation Points to my DVC Membership, there never seem to be enough Points! I always want more! I mean, more magic is always better, right? So, I am always in a perpetual state of borrowing Points, and I'm more than happy to help you borrow your Vacation Points to book the vacation of your dreams!

You can absolutely borrow Points from your 2023 Use Year to complete a vacation occurring within your 2022 Use Year! Just be aware that there is a temporary policy stating that only 50 percent of your next Use Year's Vacation Points can be borrowed at this time. You can borrow your Vacation Points when you make your Resort reservation, whether you make the reservation online on the DVC website or over the phone with DVC Member Services. When you are making your reservation online, the system will tell you exactly how many Points you will need to borrow to complete the reservation, and you will just follow the prompts to borrow the exact number of Points you will need. You will simply choose the contract from which to borrow, confirm the borrow and you'll be all set! It only adds a couple of extra quick clicks to making your online reservation. Remember that borrowing is a final transaction, so, you'll only want to borrow exactly what you will need.

After borrowing 50 percent of your 2023 Use Year's Vacation Points, if you find that you are still short Points to complete your reservation, you can always purchase up to 24 One-Time-Use Points per Use Year! You can only purchase these Points by calling DVC Member Services, and they can only be purchased at the time you are making the reservation that requires them. These Points can't be used for your Home Resort Priority, so, they can only be purchased once you're within your seven-month booking window. I've used these extra Points several times, and this is just one example of the type of flexibility that makes DVC Membership so magical! More Points equal more magic, and we already know that more magic is always better!

I hope this was helpful, Kristina, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable vacation next year! Please stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me! Happy booking!

I hope to see ya real soon,

    Mandy
