Hi again, Nakieah!
It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you back to planDisney! I can't wait to chat all about entertainment on Disney ships, a favorite topic of mine. The
live shows are a major reason why I love sailing with Disney Cruise Line. Why travel to New York City when I can travel the world and see the same caliber shows at sea?
So the
Disney Magic at Sea sailings in the UK are the only ones currently requiring that Guests reserve a time to attend the musical production onboard in the
Walt Disney Theatre. There’s no official word yet from Disney Cruise Line regarding whether this reservation system will be used on the other Disney ships or not. For now, I wouldn’t fret about being able to see one of these Broadway-caliber shows. I imagine that Captain Mickey is working overtime trying to sort out the procedures that will be used for voyages from US ports, and once a decision is made, he will make sure Guests are aware of any changes. Just assume for now that you don’t have to take any action to reserve a spot at the theater.
Believe me, I understand why you want to make sure to see the musicals on the Disney Dream, featuring
The Golden Mickeys,
Disney’s Believe, and my favorite,
Beauty and the Beast. Watching a "tale as old as time" while you are out at sea is my idea of fabulous entertainment. Since the advance booking window has already opened for your cruise and you do not see an option to reserve a live show, I find that further supports my presumption that this reservation system is not currently in place for upcoming US sailings.
To stay on top of the marquee of live shows and movies scheduled, check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Not only can you catch some movies in the
Buena Vista Theatre, you can view Disney classics on the giant Funnel Vision screen, located on the pool deck. Hmm, a movie under the stars in the middle of the ocean sounds delightful to me!
We REELy hope you will walk the red carpet back over to planDisney if you have additional questions before you set sail. Wishing you the most amazing cruise vacation, Nakieah!
