Hi Ian,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am thrilled to hear that you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!
The
resort hotels are one of the many reasons we love visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. The decor, the pools, the amenities make us feel as if we are right in the middle of the magic. As you may know, Walt Disney World Resort has
value,
moderate,
deluxe and
deluxe villa resort hotels.
The moderate resort hotels are typically more affordable than deluxe and deluxe villa resorts. My top suggestion would be
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort because, in addition to bus transportation, your family would have access to the
Disney Skyliner. Having access to multiple transportation options is simply fantastic when trying to get to the parks.
My favorite moderate resort is actually
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. The resort grounds and pools are gorgeous. And, I love being able to walk over to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside also has
water taxi transportation to Disney Springs. As you compare pricing, also consider
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. It is lovely as well with spacious rooms.
Given the size of your family, you may want to consider deluxe and deluxe villa options. When we took our girls on their first trip, my parents traveled with us and we stayed at
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in a 2 Bedroom Villa. We had two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and washer/dryer in the villa. It was simply magical to spend quality time together in our villa after a long day in the parks.
Other great deluxe resort hotel options include Disney's Contemporary Resort, within walking distance of Magic Kingdom and Disney's BoardWalk Villas, within walking distance of Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. We absolutely adore the BoardWalk area!
Ian, I understand being on a budget and am sending pixie dust trusting that you will find the perfect resort hotel for your family!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
