Hi Patrick, and welcome to planDisney! We’re so happy you stopped by with this question. It sounds like you are just beginning to plan a vacation to
Walt Disney World Resort, so you’ve come to the right place! We are here to help with any of your vacation planning questions, from resort hotels to dining, attractions, and everything in between.
When booking a
vacation package, you will only need to make a $200 deposit, as long as you book your reservation more than 30 days in advance. Then the remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your check-in date. If you make your reservation within 30 days or less of your arrival, you will need to pay the full balance of the vacation package at the time of booking.
Should you need to cancel your reservation, there is no penalty if you cancel at least 30 days in advance and you will receive a refund for your deposit and any other money paid, with the exception cancellation fees from third party hotels, non-refundable runDisney race registrations, and non-refundable travel protection plan fees. If you need to cancel between 2 and 29 days of your arrival, you would need to forfeit the deposit along with those same non-fundable fees, if applicable. However, cancelling within one day of arrival would mean the full price of the package is non-refundable.
