Hi Kate! Welcome to planDisney, where we answer all of your Disney vacation questions.
It looks like you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in January. I find that this is such a great time to visit! I got to experience
The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts for the first time last year, which usually takes place around this time of year. It was outstanding! Be sure to stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements as to when this festival will take place in 2024. And if you want more information on this fabulous festival, you can watch or listen to the
planDisney Podcast: Guide to EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.
Anyone over 13 years old can have their own
My Disney Experience account. You can link to each other using the
My Family & Friends list so that you can plan together. If you are staying in the same room at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, by default, any purchases charged back to the room will be charged to the credit card linked to the reservation. However, when you check into the resort, you can swing by the front desk and a friendly Cast Member can link different credit cards to different ticket media. This way, everyone gets to charge to their own credit cards!
Just make sure that each person that wants to link a credit card has a way to tap into the parks and charge purchases. For example, each person can use their phone to set up the
Disney MagicMobile Service, purchase a
MagicBand, or get a physical card at
Guest Relations or a ticket window outside of one of the theme parks. Then, you'll have the Cast Member at the front desk link the credit card to the ticket media.
Kate, I hope you have a wonderful winter vacation at the resort. There are so many experiences coming toward the end of 2023 that you'll likely be able to check out when you visit. Not only is
TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise already open at
Magic Kingdom Park, but
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at
EPCOT is slated to open in late 2023! There are also a few new restaurants coming our way. There's
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya coming to EPCOT and
The Cake Bake Shop Bakery by Gwendolyn Rogers coming to
Disney's BoardWalk. So much to look forward to!
If you have any other questions, please
reach out to me and I'd be happy to help!
Just keep swimming,
Matt
