If we are booking a trip with several friends, in 3 separate rooms, is there any benefit to booking together versus separate? I'm wondering how difficult it will be to keep track of our meal plan credits with a large group, if we don't separate.

    Hi ya, Rebecca!

Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It’s so exciting to hEAR about your future visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Over the yEars, every time I plan a vacation to the Disney Parks the first question my husband always asks is, “who’s coming with us?”. We’ve realized that the thing we enjoy most when we travel to Walt Disney World Resort, is who is there making new memories with us. So, I can help you with your 3-room trip!

When we visit, we usually have 2 separate rooms at whichever Disney Resort Hotel we choose. We found that booking separately, per room, works perfectly for us so that each room can manage their own payments, and if linking a credit card; their own MagicBand purchases. (Tip: If you are booking using Special Offers, Deals & Discounts, make sure that all 3 separate booking parties’ purchase their vacation packages within the same time frame of one another. Many of these offers include a date specific booking period, so you wouldn’t want a room to miss out on the deal).

Once everyone is booked, you can call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line to request the rooms be close together.  Make sure when you call that you have all 3 reservation numbers with you. (Tip: Call to request accommodations as soon as possible to give the resort plenty of time to try and meet your requests). Most of the time my family and I will have rooms next to each other, so we are able to open the connecting door! If you rather not stay in 3 rooms, I recommend checking out the Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. They sleep 6 adults and have 2 bathrooms per suite!

Don’t forget to connect your reservation to your My Disney Experience account, on the website or on your mobile phone! Once logged in, you can connect to your Family & Friends traveling with you. Connecting with your Family & Friends allows you to share plans and schedule FastPass+ reservations together! (Tip: Don’t forget when staying at a Disney Resort Hotel you can schedule FastPass+ reservations 60 days prior to your arrival). The My Disney Experience App is where you will also be able to  track your Disney Dining Plan Entitlements as well. If booking separately, the app will only show the details of the room that you are a part of.

Thanks again for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Remember, if you have more questions as you continue to plan we are always ready to help!

    See ya real soon!
