We're booking a trip for the first week of october for the Halloween celebration. What kind of tickets should we buy to make sure we can get into the Halloween party in the evening? We don't know the dates of the parties yet.

Happy hauntings, Tom, and welcome to planDisney!

I’m excited to hEAR that you’re starting to plan your October visit to the Spookiest Place on Earth! Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is full of haunting décor, fabulous treats, and boo-tastic fun, and I can’t wait for you to experience it in just a few months!

We’re almost halfway to Halloween, so I suspect we’ll be hEARing more about Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party soon. Last year, tickets went on sale on July 13, though ticket sales were a bit delayed from past years due to the phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort. The event took a break in 2020 due to the temporary closure of the Resort, but back in 2019, tickets went on sale to the general public on April 30. So, we don’t know exactly when tickets will go on sale this year, but I expect we'll hear something this month. My best recommendation is to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for an official announcement on when we can expect tickets to this event to be released.

Now, to help you plan your trip and what kind of tickets to purchase. Typically, Oogie Boogie Bash takes place in Disney California Adventure Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and usually begins around 6:00PM, but also includes early entrance into the park starting a few hours before the event. So, since you’re arriving on Saturday, October 1, there’s a chance you could attend the event on Sunday, October 2, or possibly on Tuesday, October 4, if you’re still at the Resort. Whichever date you choose to attend the Bash, I recommend enjoying a pool day at your hotel until it’s time to “mix-in” before the event, or spending the morning and early afternoon at Disneyland Park with a One Park Per Day ticket.

Tom, I can’t wait for you to experience the haunting lights and projections of Villains Grove, the oh-so-entertaining Frightfully Fun Parade, and the specialty treats and merchandise – there’s so much to see and do at this special event!

I hope this information helps. Please stop back with any additional questions, and stay tuned for the latest news about the Bash!

    Boo to you!
