Booking our trip for early December...torn between bay lake towers and Polynesian? Suggestions or a 6 and 4 year old. Should we consider something with more moderate pricing since the wait or shuttles should not be as bad?

    Hi Phuong!

Early December is a fantastic time to visit Walt Disney World. In fact, I think it's my very favourite time to visit! The holiday decor is up everywhere, the crowds are generally low, the pricing is great and the weather is usually perfect!

At that time of year, proximity to Magic Kingdom won't be of huge concern since crowd levels will be lower. The choice is really up to you! Since you're also considering moderate resorts, I'll recommend my top pick in that category as well. If you're traveling with little girls, consider the delightful Royal Guest Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, or the Alligator Bayou section of the resort if you have boys. This resort is moderately priced, centrally located on property, and a great choice for a first-time visit. Direct buses are available to all four parks as well as the Water Parks and Downtown Disney. There's also a boat to Downtown Disney. Think of the money you'd save to put towards souvenirs and visits to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or Pirates League!

If you'd really enjoy more deluxe accommodations and your budget allows for it, my top pick would be (and always has been) Disney's Polynesian Resort. There's really no other place quite like it on property. You'll feel like you're on two vacations at once. One to a Polynesian Island and one to Walt Disney World! There's a great Children's Activity Center on site, the dining options are fantastic, the pool has zero-entry, a great beach, just 2 stops on the monorail to Magic Kingdom and a short walk to the Epcot monorail and transportation and ticket center. The Polynesian becomes a fast favourite with many families who stay there on their first visit.

I hope this helps you out Phuong!
Feel free to write me back if you have additional questions. I'd love to hear from you again.

Wishing you a simply Magical time as you plan your December visit to Walt Disney World!
