When booking a restaurant, which does not require a pre-payment, do I have to inform that I have a dining plan? Or I only give this information when I get to the restaurant?

    Hello, Marcia!

    What a great question!

I've often waited to add on my Dining Plan until closer to our check-in, just to hold off on the expense a little bit. As such, I've booked those reservations prior to being on the Dining Plan, then just told my server at the restaurant that we are now on the Dining Plan. We've never had a problem.

Thus, you can certainly tell Disney Dining that you're on the Dining Plan, should you wish to do so, but can certainly inform them once you get to the restaurant, too. The most important part of this is for your server to see your Key to the World Card, so that he or she can determine which plan you're on, explain to you how your entitlements can be used at that particular restaurant, and can enter your bill correctly.

Enjoy your vacation to Walt Disney World, which will be even more memorable since you'll be dining around the World, too! Come back with any additional questions you may have; I love to help!
