When booking the resort and tickets together for a family through disney does each person get their tickets automatically or do i have to go and purchase the tickets separately for each person?

    Hey Jaylene,

Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you’re planning a family trip to Walt Disney World soon. To me, there’s no better way to show your loved ones that you care than to take them on a carefully curated trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. It really is a love language, and I’m so happy to help you get it right.

The key to making any Disney World plans for a family (or any group) is to have everyone in your party linked in the My Disney Experience app. Whether they are children or adults, if you’re the one primarily making the plans everyone should be linked to you. Other adults can also link everyone and you can share the planning responsibilities, too. You can complete this task in the app or on the website, but my instructions will be for the app. Instructions vary slightly if you plan to do this on the website.

Open and log into your My Disney Experience app, then tap on the hamburger menu icon in the lower right corner (☰). Tap Profile, then Family & Friends List. Review your list to be sure that everyone is accounted for and tap Add a Guest if anyone is missing. You’ll be able to search for them or scan their linking code (which they can access from their My Disney Experience profile).

Once everyone is linked, you should be able to purchase a vacation package including tickets and your resort stay and associate them with your family members in My Disney Experience. If you need additional help with this, you can always call the resort and speak with a cast member.

While you’re planning, Jaylene, I want to be sure to mention that Dining Plans are free for kids in 2026. This is an incredible value for families. You can choose from the quick service plan or the traditional plan that includes table service meals. If you haven’t already added a dining plan to your vacation package definitely give it some thought! Now that my own children are getting older they are more adventurous with food so the timing of this promotion was perfect for us. If you'd like to add the dining plan to your vacation plans, you can either add it on the My Disney Experience website by modifying your plans or on the phone with a cast member.

I hope this information is helpful. If you need any additional help with planning your family’s magical visit, please stop by and see us here at planDisney again. See ya real soon!
