Hi Elay! Welcome to
planDisney. That's a really great question, and I'm glad you're looking closely at the room details before booking.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is actually one of the few Moderate Resorts that can comfortably accommodate a family of five, but the key detail is making sure the room you select includes the pull-down bed.
At this resort, rooms that sleep five are typically located in the Alligator Bayou section. These rooms feature two queen beds plus a small pull-down bed designed for a child. One of my favorite details is that when you pull the bed down, you'll usually find adorable artwork inspired by The Princess and the Frog inside.
Because of the room layout, these “5th sleeper” rooms are most commonly found under Standard View or Woods View categories in the Alligator Bayou area. Preferred Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are located in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort, which unfortunately does not include the pull-down bed. Those rooms typically only sleep four.
That means if the system is letting you book a Preferred Room with a party size of five, I would definitely pause and double-check before confirming anything. The safest way to guarantee that extra sleeping space is to choose a room category that specifically mentions the fifth sleeper or the child-size pull-down bed in the description. Disney's booking system usually highlights it clearly when it's included.
If you're unsure, my best advice would be to go ahead and
contact the Walt Disney World help center. A Cast Member can look directly at your reservation, confirm the exact room type attached to it, and make sure the correct configuration is in place for your family. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us! We're always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney. Have a magical day!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
