Hello Sandra and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel where it's always a delight for me to assist a fellow Guest from the United Kingdom with their jolly holiday plans to visit the magic of Walt Disney World Resort.
I do love a good deal or bargain myself so I can totally relate to your great question as this is something I've often debated when viewing Walt Disney World Deals via the Walt Disney Travel Company website for my own family holidays to Disney.
I'm happy to share that in my own experience we've found upgrading our free Disney Dining Plan Quick Service plan to the Disney Dining Plan to work really well for us.  Having said that we do enjoy our food and love family style dining, all-you-care-to-enjoy buffets and of course Character Dining and Dinner Shows - which can all work out to be rather expensive if paid out of pocket.  Plus it's also worth remembering that gratuities are included when dining at Dinner Shows and at Cinderella's Royal Table.
My top tip for you is to be sure to secure Advance Dining Reservations up to 180 days ahead of time via My Disney Experience
    Have a great Disney day.
