How does booking multipass/single passes in advance work for split stays when staying on property and off property with annual pass? 7 days before on property stay then book 3 days in advance of any other day visiting parks but not staying on property?

Hey there, hi there, Connor! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney.

As a fellow out-of-state Walt Disney World Annual Passholder who loves a good split stay where I stay at two (or more!) Disney Resort Hotels, I had this exact same question before my last split stay. I absolutely love that we can now make Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass selections in advance, but with split stays and Annual Passes, sometimes, the planning can be as confusing as it is magical. That's what we at planDisney are here for, and I'm more than happy to help!

It sounds like your planning is off to a practically perfect start, and you are absolutely correct. You can make your advance Lightning Lane selections for your entire stay (up to 14 days) at a Disney Resort Hotel seven days before your check-in date. With your Annual Pass, you can make your advance selections for your off-property stay three days before each park visit.

You'll be able to make your Lightning Lane selections and purchase both Multi Pass and Single Pass, one day at a time, in one transaction. However, just be aware that while you can make your selections for your entire Disney Resort Hotel stay at 7:00 a.m. EST seven days before your arrival, each day will require a separate transaction. I like this, though! It allows me to easily pick and choose which days I'll purchase Lightning Lanes and which days I'll just let the pixie dust guide me. Just be sure to have a credit or debit card linked to your My Disney Experience account to make each transaction a breeze.

If you can, I suggest staying at the Disney Resort Hotel at the beginning of your split stay. Since you can make Lightning Lane advance selections for your entire stay, including checkout day, this will give you a jump on making selections for the second half of your stay, increasing the odds for more availability of Lightning Lane return times. Another way I like to maximize the magic of using Lightning Lane Passes is to make a selection as close to park opening as possible. Then, after tapping into that first Lightning Lane, you can make another selection from any group, based on availability. Less time in line and more time in the magic is always best!

I hope this helps, Connor, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable time at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have.

    See ya real soon,

    Mandy
