Welcome to planDisney, Gwen!
It's not long now until you'll be arriving at the place where “Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever.” It's time to "forget about your worries and your strife." As soon as you drive through that
Walt Disney World archway, your joy will soar to infinity and beyond!
You'll be just in time to enjoy the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts too! You'll be able to eat
delicious (and fantastic-looking) dishes, enjoy great entertainment, and even partake in a variety of visual arts experiences. Don't miss it!
But "let's get down to business." Gwen, unfortunately, the Magical Express service came to an end at the beginning of 2022. Therefore, Disney no longer provides its own form of transportation to and from the airport. However, there are still a number of ways to get from Orlando International Airport to the Walt Disney World Resort. I always suggest people choose from one of the following three options:
Shuttle Services
There are two different shuttle services to choose from. The first option is Mears Connect. I've used Mears Connect in the past and I'm planning on using them again this Spring. The second shuttle service option is Sunshine Flyer. Check both websites, compare prices, and decide which suits you most.
RideshareMany people choose to get to Walt Disney World Resort from the airport using a rideshare service, like Uber or Lyft. Simply download their respective apps and make a booking at a time that works best for you. The advantage of using Uber/Lyft over a shuttle service is that you can leave when you're ready and you don't have to wait for other Guests. You'll also be taken straight to your Disney Resort instead of possibly having to stop at multiple Disney Resorts along the way. However, I don't know about you, but I think rideshare services have gotten quite expensive these days. So I don't use them as much as I used to due to the price increase.
Rental CarThere are a number of rental car companies at Orlando International Airport. Many people choose this option so that they have more flexibility. And since
Disney recently announced that overnight parking is free for Guests staying property, this is a more affordable option than in the past.
I hope that's helpful, Gwen. Thanks for choosing to be our Guest.
