If I am booking a hotel reservation at either The Disneyland Hotel or The Grand California and plan to utilize a Magic Morning pass is there a benefit to staying in staying in one hotel over the other?

    Hello Dana!

We’re happy to have you here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It looks like someone is planning a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!

Staying on property at the Disneyland Resort is sure to make for a magical stay. I see that you have narrowed it down to two of my favorite resorts. If you choose to stay at the Disneyland Hotel you’ll enjoy the one that started it all. There is such awesome memorabilia and pictures of Walt Disney around the lobby. It has that classic feel and is filled with Walt’s magic. Each one of the towers was designed to pay homage to Disneyland Park’s original lands. Don’t forget about the Monorail Pool with an E-Ticket water slide! Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has a craftsman style elegant feel where you’ll feel pampered every step of the way. There's nothing like relaxing by one of the fireplaces after a fun day at the parks.

Exclusive to registered guests staying at any of the hotels at the Disneyland Resort, you’ll get access to Extra Magic Hour. You’ll be able to enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park one hour before the general public and start enjoying select attractions, for every day of your stay! When planning your stay, check the schedule to see what park opens early for hotel guests on the days you plan to stay. In my opinion, it's the best perk of staying on property. A benefit of staying at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa over the Disneyland Hotel is that it has its own private entrance into Disney California Adventure Park. No other hotel has this feature in the US parks. If you’re planning to start your day or end your day at Disney California Adventure Park, then this is a big benefit. I highly recommend GCH Craftsman Bar at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill at the Disneyland Hotel as dining options during your stay. They'll have your taste buds going wow!

Well Dana, no matter which hotel you choose it's sure to be a trip filled fun, magic and laughter.

Remember, always believe in the magic!
