When booking a future Disney Cruise while on board a ship, can you book with just one name and pay the single deposit, or do they require all of the names and deposits at the time of booking? Disboards posts say we can book with one person then add later.

    Hi Amy,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Yes, a stateroom can be reserved for a single passenger with one deposit - and may be modified at a later date to add additional passengers.  It is important to understand however, that when modifying a reservation to add passengers, the current rates will apply to the entire reservation.  Essentially if the rates have gone up since you initially booked, your entire reservation will now be subject to the new (higher) rate.

It's also worth mentioning that the ships maintain adult and child ratios for the comfort and safety of the guests.  So if you are looking to add children to a reservation, and the optimum child ratio has already been met for that sailing, you may be told that the voyage is "sold out" and you will not be able to add the passengers - even though you already have a stateroom.

So yes, it certainly can be done - but for peace of mind and the best rates, I suggest booking all passengers with the initial reservation.

    Good luck!
